Description
25/8 is a zine created to give voice to artists. It is designed from the belief that creativity is continuously evolving— 25 hours a day, 8 days a week.
I had the opportunity to design and develop the website for 25/8 Zine. This entailed not only imagining how the project and it's content would exist on a website, but also integrating Shopify Buy SDK into the site for purchasing the magazine itself.
This website was featured on 404.foundation, a creative coding archive.

Uniformity through Individuality
It was clear from the start that this website served two main functions:
- Serve as a portal to the Shopify cart for people interested in buying the zine.
- Document the content of the zine while expressing the individuality of the featured artists.
With these two functions in mind, I focused on the concept of mirrors and the idea of reflecting the work and identity of these featured artists throughout the website.
The home page features a monolithic 3D logo of the zine which refracts six faces of a cube containing all six featured artists. Each artist has their own respective color scheme which fills the page both when you hover over the artist's name on the home page and go to their respective artist pages.
I had a lot of fun with this project and learned a lot about Three.js in the process. Thanks to Isaac Grothe, the featured artists, and the whole 258 Zine team for making this possible!
